Summer in New Jersey is about more than sun and sand—it’s also a fruitful opportunity for food lovers to explore the state’s vibrant culinary scene. From smoky barbecues and indulgent pastas to sweet blueberries and Italian traditions, July is packed with delicious events that highlight the Garden State’s diverse tastes. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly day trip or a food-filled weekend getaway, these upcoming festivals offer something for every palate.

Starting July 5th and running through the 19th, the Jersey City Restaurant Fest is a can’t-miss celebration for anyone who loves trying new dishes. Dozens of local restaurants will offer special prix fixe menus, tasting events, and drink pairings, giving foodies a chance to sample the best eats that Jersey City has to offer. Whether you’re craving global flavors, classic comfort food, or vegan fare, this two-week festival makes it easy (and affordable) to dine your way through the city.

For fans of smoky ribs and sizzling grills, the New Jersey State Barbecue Championship in North Wildwood from July 11th to 13th is the ultimate summer event with free admission. Located near the lively Anglesea Boardwalk, this championship draws pitmasters from around the country for three days of fierce competition, live blues music, and mouthwatering barbecue. Visitors can learn new techniques from cooking demonstrations, and of course, indulge in plenty of pulled pork, brisket, and ribs straight off the smoker.

Also on July 13th, head to Pasta Grill Mansfield in Hackettstown for the Pasta and Spritz Fest, a delightful afternoon filled with Italian-inspired bites and refreshing summer cocktails. For only $10, attendees receive an entry ticket, plus one free drink from the outdoor DIY Spritz Bar. Highlights include pasta flights, a wine-tasting challenge, lawn games, henna tattoos, and more!

Fruit lovers won’t want to miss the Blueberry Festival in Monmouth Junction on July 13th and 14th. Hosted at Von Thun Farms, this family-friendly weekend is bursting with blueberry-themed treats, from pies and muffins to fresh, pick-your-own berries. Kids can enjoy hayrides, an activity area, and friendly farm animals, while adults can browse through a wide range of food trucks and an expansive farmers market.

Later in the month, from July 23rd through the 27th, the 115th annual St. Ann’s Feast in Hoboken brings together food, faith, and fun in one of the state’s most cherished traditions. This widely-celebrated street festival features Italian favorites like zeppole, cheesesteaks, rice balls, fried calamari, and more. Also to note is the daily live music, a 50/50 raffle, kiddie rides, and a stunning beer garden to kick back and relax at. The festival also honors Saint Ann with a procession and mass, preserving a deep cultural legacy for Hoboken’s Italian-American community.

Finally, round out the month with the Italian Festival & Wine Tasting at Oceanport’s Monmouth Park Racetrack from July 26th to 27th. From 11am to 5pm, this event pairs exciting races with samplings from regional wineries and food vendors offering everything from wood-fired pizza to seafood. With live music, family-oriented activities, and an all-around festive atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a warm summer weekend.

With so many delicious reasons to celebrate, July is a great time to hit the road and taste your way across New Jersey with the promise of unforgettable flavors and lasting summer memories.
