Whether or not you already own a pet, it’s no question that inviting a new furry friend into your life is unbelievably exciting. Picture a precious kitten, cat, puppy, or dog running right up to you, grateful to have found their new home. Pretty irresistible, right? Now, envision a massive space, a quarter-mile in size, packed to the brim with pet-themed vendors and on-site shelters full of these adorable animals. Believe it or not, this fuzzy fantasy will soon become a reality. On March 15th, at Holmdel’s famous Bell Works, you won’t want to miss the monumental Catsbury Park Adopt & Shop Fair.
Catsbury Park, the host of the event, is revered as New Jersey’s first cat cafe, which doubles as a non-profit rescue for felines without a home. For cat-lovers, visiting the cafe is a heavenly experience where you can sip on a warm cup of coffee while cute kitties brush past your legs. By the time you reach the bottom of your mug, if you find that you have fallen in love with any of the animals, you can apply to adopt them right away with ease.
Since Catsbury Park’s inception in 2016, the group has organized numerous “Cat Conventions” in Asbury Park and Philadelphia, all intended to raise funds for Catsbury Park’s rescue efforts and its partnered charities. These conventions found major success each time, drawing in cat-fanatics from all over the map and giving them the chance to completely engulf themselves in the fantastic world of felines. Vendors have always played a significant role in the popularity of this event, selling cat care accessories, handmade art pieces, and other forms of kitty-centric merchandise. However, the biggest star of the show tended to be the opportunity to hangout with tons of adoptable cats in the on-site cat lounge, with hope that some “forever” bonds would form by the event’s end.
As grand as the Cat Conventions were in the past, the upcoming Adopt & Shop Fair might just give them a run for their money, as it is on track to become the biggest rescue-based adoption event in New Jersey. This time around, there are a whopping 40+ vendors scheduled to appear at Bell Works on March 15th, all prepared with unique products to share. You’ll come across tattoo booths offering up animal tats for a good cause, an animal-themed art area for all the creatives, and a 50/50 raffle for the chance to win exceptional prizes. With no ticket purchase necessary for this event, you may want to keep the spare cash on hand– make way for a little bit of splurging on goodies!
Aside from the upsurge in vendors and brand-new activities, there is another major distinction of this fair when compared to past events. At long last, it has finally been expanded to involve another beloved species: dogs, of course! In the on-site shelters, you will be faced with boatloads of tail-wagging dogs and pups eager to spread love to potential owners. In fact, there will even be a couple exotic animals available for adoption, so get ready for a whole jungle of fun at the Catsbury Park Adopt & Shop Fair!
